Breakwall Core Cans
Client: Breakwall Brewing Company
Breakwall Brewing Company is a craft brewery founded on the heritage of their small port town. Breakwall opened it’s doors in 2018 and I had the pleasure of designing their core can line up. The beers are named after significant pieces of local history and though illustration we were able to tell their stories.
Sailor Saison: An ode to the sailors work ethic and the industrial past. We illustrated our interpretation of the life of a sailor, from anchors to heartbreak and all the gambling and drinking in between.
Shrinking Mill: An illustration of the grain elevator that has played tricks on many of eyes is front and center. the “Shrinking Mill” as the locals call it is an optical illusion along the Lake Erie shoreline, the closer you get the smaller it appears.
Nine O’Clock Whistle: The nine o’clock whistle was a curfew whistle for the minors that rang every night from WWII to sometime in the late ’70’s. We chose an oldsmobile convertible to represent the time era, and it also immortalized the founder of the brewery’s mothers car.
